MAC Commercial and Professional Risks Limited (‘MAC Comm’) was founded in 2009 to support MAC Financial clients’, and other businesses, with their local and international insurance exposure. The small but dynamic team soon earned an enviable reputation in the Isle of Man for taking a ‘hands-on approach’ with clients and delivering comprehensive cover with exceptional service.
On 31 January 2023, MAC Comm acquired the Aon (Isle of Man) insurance broking book of business. The acquisition aligned two high-profile insurance businesses that share key synergies including a focus on providing a trusted, reliable and innovative service that is founded on the highest levels of integrity and technical expertise. In addition to increasing the size of the MAC Comm team, the acquisition also added valuable expertise, skills and enhanced our service offering.

Our qualified and experienced team of insurance professionals understand the importance of providing a quick, hassle free and discreet support to our clients. They provide a proactive, end-to-end service, from initial enquiry through to placement and remain on-hand throughout the term of the policy and at renewal. Should a client ever need to make a claim, it is crucial that the broker responds in a timely and fair manner, providing reassurance when it is needed the most – this is an integral part of the MAC Comm ethos.

Ann Zachorecki Dip CII
Associate Director – Group Broking Manager
Ann has over 22 years’ of insurance experience, covering personal and commercial underwriting, business development and broking. She joined MAC Comm via the Aon (Isle of Man) acquisition and manages the team, reporting directly into the Board of Directors and shaping the strategy. She is also responsible for ensuring that our clients continue to receive exceptional end-to-end service.
Peter O’Donnell Cert CII
Associate Director – Financial Lines Specialist
Peter has over 25 years’ experience working in the general insurance sector, including working for a decade in liability claims, giving him a unique insight into the sector. He joined MAC Comm in 2013 and has an extensive knowledge of the financial lines insurance market. Peter is well placed to find solutions for clients in today’s increasingly litigious world including Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers and Cyber insurance amongst many other financial lines covers.
Richard Smith Dip CII
Senior Account Executive
Richard has over 27 years’ experience in the insurance industry, 23 of these years have been gained from working in the Isle of Man. He joined MAC Comm following the acquisition of Aon (Isle of Man). His extensive experience covers professional lines, construction, public sector, global liability and commercial combined to name but a few. Richard manages some of our biggest insurance accounts and regularly represents MAC Comm at various client and industry events.
Nick Watterson
Senior Account Executive
Nick has worked in the insurance sector for over 35 years’ and joined MAC Comm following the acquisition of Aon (Isle of Man). Prior to working for Aon, he helped to establish a local broking firm, MBL, before spending five years working at Marsh. His extensive insurance experience includes placing Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers, Global Liability, Motor Fleet and Commercial Combined cover across a variety of sectors including logistics, manufacturing, retail, engineering, eGaming and financial institutions.
Craig Gawne
Senior Account Executive
Craig has worked in insurance broking for almost a decade and joined MAC Comm in 2021, having previously worked at Aon in the Isle of Man and UK. He has a deep understanding of the insurance market and technical nuances of insurer offering(s) and is well known to many of our eGaming and tech sector clients. Craig is primarily responsible for meeting with new and existing clients to establish their needs and to ensure that there is effective risk placement.
Helen Hutchinson Cert CII (Claims)
Commercial Account Executive
Helen has over nine years’ experience in the insurance sector in the Isle of Man, joining MAC Comm via the acquisition of Aon (Isle of Man). She holds the CII Certificate, specialising in claims and the processes and technicalities surrounding them, and is currently studying towards the CII Diploma. At MAC Comm, Helen primarily works with our clients on Property and Liability insurance.
Beccy Miller Cert CII
Commercial Account Executive
Beccy has worked in the insurance sector for over 10 years’ and joined MAC Comm in 2020. She holds the CII Certificate and is currently studying towards the CII Diploma. At MAC Comm, Beccy is responsible for supporting our clients with their commercial insurance needs, including Commercial Property and working with High-Net-Worth individuals (or their advisors). She is also a Council Member for the CII (Isle of Man) branch.
Nikki Wilson Cert CII
Credit Control Manager
Nikki has over 30 years’ insurance experience, gained from working in London and the Isle of Man. She joined MAC Comm following the acquisition of Aon (Isle of Man) and holds the CII Certificate. Her insurance experience covers various roles including managing operations teams at start-up underwriting companies, credit control and technical roles. Nikki utilises her experience to provide credit control and to support the rest of the team.
